Elevating and Supporting Black Volunteer Tutors - Phase 2 Report

We are thrilled to share our latest report! In January 2021, the Petey Greene Program began our efforts to recruit and support Black volunteer tutors. This report follows Phase 2, or the implementation of the HBCU Forward Initiative at Howard University in which the PGP collaborated with Black HU student volunteers to design, pilot and evaluate an enhanced volunteer support model and justice-oriented leadership programming. We also look ahead to Phase 3 of this initiative and begin to set the course for elevating Black volunteer tutors across the PGP's existing and expanding university partnerships.
